Olympics Medallist Aman Sehrawat Out of Worlds

Paris Olympics Medallist Aman Sehrawat Disqualified from World Wrestling Championships for Being Overweight

India’s wrestling sensation and Paris Olympics bronze medallist Aman Sehrawat has been disqualified from the World Wrestling Championships 2025 after failing to meet the weight requirement in his category.

The 21-year-old wrestler, who rose to fame with his remarkable Olympic performance, was expected to be one of India’s strongest medal contenders at the Championships. However, during the official weigh-in, Sehrawat was found to be overweight, leading to his shocking disqualification.

This unexpected exit has not only disappointed Indian wrestling fans but also raised questions about training, weight management, and preparation strategies ahead of such crucial tournaments. Experts believe that the disqualification could serve as a major lesson for athletes and federations to prioritize discipline in weight categories.

Despite this setback, Aman Sehrawat remains a promising talent for India. His performance in Paris proved his resilience and skill on the mat, and fans are hopeful he will bounce back stronger in upcoming competitions.

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) is yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
